BACKGROUND: A standard piece of equipment for all German army EM/NCO personnel was a wool/rayon blend blanket that was issued for use during the fall and winter months and returned to the military storage depots for the spring and summer months. The blankets were manufactured with an interwoven colored stripe at each end allowing the owner a reference point to roll the blanket up in a consistent manner to attach it to his field pack.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Off white/cream, wool/rayon blend construction blanket. Red and blue stripe (one each end). Textbook issue type. Couple of small holes and stains as is to be expected on an issued and used item.
