A 7cm x 11cm colour advertising card featuring German East Africa. The card depicts German police Askaris (native soldiers) marching in a parade in Dar es Salam lead by German officers in white dress uniforms for visiting German colonial official Bernhard Dernburg. Printed "Serie 61 Ernst Dernburg-Reise nach Ostafrika" (The Dernburg trip to East Africa). Bernhard Dernburg (17 July 1865-14 October 1937) was a German liberal politician and banker. He served as the secretary for Colonial Affairs and head of the Imperial Colonial Office from May 1907 to o June 1910. He travelled to German East Africa in 1907.
