H062178 KRIEGSMARINE RANGEFINDER.
A 81cm long metal rangefinder painted in a light tan/grey with a rubberized forehead/face rest that has the right side broken off (but included) and a crack to the left side. The brass plate shows an eagle with "MIV/5, 0.7 Rf, Vergr. 7.8x, Nr. 22075 Lattenabstand, 1650cm". The second brass plate has chipping and marking that makes it impossible to read with the exception of the numbers "31195". The optics are spotted with the markings partially faded. A cap with "H" to one end is in place that represents "Hohen" or "Height", while the opposite knob for distance is missing. The leather end pieces are missing, but the leather strap is included. The rangefinder shows heavy usage and wear, with oxidation to either end which stop adjustmentsMarked with the impressed manufacturers three letter code, "dow" indicating manufacture by Opticotechna G.m.b.H.
