H021789 SECURITY & AUXILIARY POLICE/COSSACK VOLUNTEER NATIONAL EMBLEM. (Hoheitsabzeichen)
BACKGROUND: Introduced in August 1942 for security and auxiliary police, (Schuma), and expanded for wear by Cossacks in December 1942. Insignia was worn in place of the standard breast eagle. An order dated April 1943 removed this insignia from wear, replacing it with the standard breast eagle.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Machine woven insignia of a central mouse grey angular swastika on a field-grey diamond base with a mouse grey border. Extending from either side of the central diamond are three horizontal bars in mouse grey, field-grey, mouse grey, with downward diagonally angled ends. Still on original field-grey rayon factory roll.
