(Faden)BACKGROUND: Although each company sized unit in the German Armed Forces would be assigned a tailor and a cobbler the individual soldier was still expected to care for and do basic maintenance on his issue uniform garments. As a result, the soldiers were equipped with a basic "housewife" kit which would contain sewing supplies including assorted needles and threads.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Roughly, 7.5cm tall, 3.5cm diameter, coiled feldgrau cotton thread wrapped around a hollow, pressed, natural tan cardboard construction spool. The spool of thread is in overall excellent, unused condition.
