The Jäger Divisions were organized and equipped similar to that of the Mountain Divisions. On October 2ND 1942 distinctive insignia was introduced for all Jäger personnel with a cloth version to be worn on the upper right sleeve of the greatcoat, service and uniform tunics and the field blouse and a metal version for wear on the left side of all field caps.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Stamped alloy construction Jäger personnel’s cap badge is in the form of three overlapping oak-leaves with the centre leaf overlapping the other two and a single stem and acorn. The badge is nicely detailed with a subtly pebbled background field to the oak-leaves and embossed "veins". The reverse of the badge is a mirror image of obverse and has two of the original three integral bent over attachment prongs intact.
